A love story...

(Tried to write a short story)

A beautiful girl and a humble boy met. Both were from middle class families. For the first time, they discovered the heady mixture of youth and freedom, spiced up with their own nickels. They spent time together, blissfully oblivious to the fact that how hours were melting into seconds. They crossed roads holding each other’s hands, never losing the grip. The fairer sex felt secure in the warmth of his hands. A strong yet a gentle hold. Reminiscing when she held his father’s hand and took her first step. She felt safe, again. Because she knew that he’d protect her from every peril in life. The boy was awfully conscious of his persona. A classic case of no confidence and timidity. But the girl was egregious and too cute. She talked to him adorably. Soon he found his inhibitions evaporating in the fragrance of her lovely hair. He could see himself to be priceless in her beautiful kohl lined eyes. He became himself for the first time in front of a female species after his mother. He too felt safe, again. Because he could live freely now without pretending to be somebody else.

She had lived for him all this while, but now she wished to follow her heart. Then one day she left him to pursue her dreams. Still they talked for several hours and messengers had to overwork. Soon she got engrossed and mesmerized in her new world. Messengers could relax now. Still they were happy. They knew that their love was unshakable. Soon she began to spend more and more hours with her new friends. Everybody wanted to talk to her as she was the only angel there. He smiled and said in his heart, “Live your life with freedom…I trust you”. She heard it because she was always in his heart. She chuckled as she had made the right choice in life. She became even more mired in work. He began to spend sleepless nights dying to listen to her voice. Hoping to listen to her angel talking…but he heard a demon. Demon whispered that the angel was not sitting on his shoulder anymore. He thought his angel was flying far-far away. Somehow he knew his angel is not going anywhere but still he doubted her. He wondered why angel talks to everyone but him. And he doubted her again. Angel thought, he is in my heart, so it doesn’t matter if I don’t talk to him often. After all he is my dearest love and he understands me. But he longed for her mellifluous voice badly. As it was his only solace. So he desperately coerced her to talk to him. He became savage and hurt her. She felt sad. She choked and couldn’t speak. He became more ferocious and hurt her more. She couldn’t even breathe. She cried…and requested him to stop. He did stop but only after leashing the angel. She turned pale and looked at him. He had transformed into a demon. She broke her leash with all her might and flew away, never to comeback. She was bruised and bleeding profusely. He saw her helplessly. After all, he had strangled his own relationship with his bare hands. He had hurt God’s most tender angel. He cried a river and saw his own reflection in it. He got scared and ashamed. He mustered courage and fought the demons. But he was hurt too in this ordeal. All his strength had waned. He could still hear angel’s voice echoing, “I forgive you but I’ll come back only when you become the same as you were when I liked you.” He couldn’t forgive himself for his deeds. He carried the anguish in his heart which had turned crimson with angel’s blood. He set out to rediscover himself and in search of redemption.
